A word of thanks from Mr Milligan

16th Jun 2016

'Mr Milligan baffled by new technology'

I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the staff and Cregagh Community. An iPhone, iPad, cards and well-wishes will stay with me always. The bottles of wine will be emptied by Christmas. Also, many thanks to Mrs Kinnear for the book 'iPad for Seniors, for Dummies' which will hopefully help me to navigate my way round my new technology - which is baffling me at the moment!

This has been an emotional time for me and I will never forget my years at Cregagh Primary School, which will remain a very special place to me - my heartfelt thanks to one and all!

Mr Milligan's Final Assembly

On Tuesday 21st October, Cregagh Primary School and the Cregagh Community got to say an official 'goodbye' to Mr Milligan as we held our Final Assembly. The boys, girls and staff came to school dressed as Mr Milligan - a hard act to follow but I think we all pulled it off!

The choir sang 'Sing a Song' and 'We're so proud of our school' impeccably, Mr Milligan was presented with gifts and words of thanks from Marlene Dodds, Cregagh Community Association and Councillor Tommy Sandford, DUP & Castlereagh Council. Our Chairman of the Board of Govenors, Rev. Adrian Green spoke highly of Mr Milligan and wished him well on his retirement.

Mr Milligan was delighted to be presented with a 'Book of Dreams' which contains a little message from each child in school, accompanied by a small sentence showing what they think of our Principal. I have also attached a few photographs to show the finished book. Many thanks to Marlene for supplying the book and to Mrs Pearson and Miss McKee for putting the book together.

Mr Milligan wanted me to express again his thanks for the kind words, gifts and well wishes he has received since announcing his retirement as Principal. He has been overwhelmed at the support he has received and is humbled by the generosity from the Cregagh Primary School and Community (It is not often we have him lost for words!!).

It is safe to say that pupils, staff and the wider Cregagh community will miss the banter, laughs, support and hard work that Mr Milligan has given to various aspects of the school and community. However, I am sure he will certainly make the most of his well deserved retirement.

Enjoy looking at the pictures from today's fantastic assembly and of our 'Mini-Milligans'. It was a tiresome day dressed as Mr Milligan - he makes it look easy! (Click the pictures to enlarge them!)
