Cregagh Primary football team took part in Breda Academy’s Primary School Engagement football tournament at Olympia Leisure Centre on Boucher Road today.
We came third in the group stages and proceeded to the Plate competition. After a hard fought victory in the semi-final against Knockbreda Primary we progressed to the Plate final against Carryduff Primary. This ended in a 0-0 draw so the boys and girls had to take part in a penalty shoot out. Our children calmly stepped up to successfully take every penalty so the penalties went to ‘sudden death’. Our goalkeeper kept his nerve and saved the last penalty to make us winners of the Plate Final!
Six matches, 19 goals (including four penalties), four clean sheets and some silverware to add to our collection.
